REAL ESTATE LAW

Whether you are buying or selling a home, refinancing, or considering a change in your deed, let an attorney help you navigate through the process to ensure your assets are properly protected.

How can an attorney help me sell my home?

As your attorney, we'll not only make sure the process runs smoothly and efficiently, we'll ensure you are protected at every step in the process. We'll draft the Purchase & Sale Agreement and work with your realtor to make sure all the details of the sale are properly accounted for in the final agreement. Sometimes a problem may arise in the title search on your home, such as old liens or prior mortgages not properly discharged, that can cause headaches and even put your sale in jeopardy. We'll work to catch these problems and fix them before they put your sale in jeopardy. In addition, we'll take care of the entire transaction and even represent you at the closing so you don't have to.

How can an attorney help my buy a home?

This is probably your biggest investment in your life. As your attorney we can make sure the transaction runs smoothly and that the Purchase & Sale Agreement is properly drafted to protect your interest. If your purchasing a new home or working with a Builder, then the Purchase & Sale Agreement must reflect this.  This means making sure all the home specifications are clear and you have solid warranty.  We'll work with all the important parties, the bank, realtors, seller's attorney and others to make sure your home buying experience is a positive one.

What is Title Insurance and do I need it?

Title insurance is almost always required by the Lender which you'll have to pay for. Title Insurance protects the Lender from any unforeseen problems with the title such as an undisclosed lien that shows up after your mortgage has been recorded or someone who claims a right to a portion of your property through a prior deed.
