CIVIL LITIGATION

Civil Litigation encompasses a wide range of legal injuries.  If you feel you've been harmed on the purchase of a product, or in a contract dispute, let The Law Office Of Thomas C. Marino evaluate your situation and discuss your legal option.

What types of matters are handled through civil litigation?

Civil Litigation deals with private disputes between individuals and/or organizations. In civil litigation, monetary compensation may be awarded to the victim. Some examples of matters handled through civil litigation are:
  • Medical Malpractice
  • Contract Disputes
  • Disputes Involving Torts (accidents, negligence, libel/slander, etc.)
  • Landlord / Tenant Disputes
  • Claims Involving the Disputed Probate of Wills and Trusts
  • Property Disputes
  • Claims for Benefits under Local Pensions or Insurance Companies
  • Discrimination

I am not sure Civil Litigation is the right avenue to enforce my rights. How can I find out?

There is no fee to discuss your case with us at an initial consultation. We can discuss the specifics of your case and decide if pursuing a lawsuit is the best way to enforce your rights. Often times, settlement is achieved prior to a trial. If it isn't, we can represent you through the lawsuit to ensure that your claim gets the attention it needs.

How much will an attorney cost if we proceed to trial?

If you are the Plaintiff (the party bringing suit), we can work with you to determine the most reasonable method of fees. An arrangement can be made to decide if it is going to be a flat fee, an hourly rate, or a designated portion of any award that is received (contingency fee). If you are the defendant, we can discuss a flat fee or hourly rate as well.
