CONSUMER PROTECTION

Massachusetts has one of the toughest consumer protection laws available. If you've been victimized by unscrupulous business practices then you may be entitled to damages. Let the Law Office of Thomas C. Marino evaluate your claim and help you decide what's right for you.

What exactly does "consumer protection" encompass?

The realm of consumer protection is large, and the law protects consumers in many different aspects. Some common scenarios in which consumers are harmed are:
  • Deceptive Business Practices
  • Misrepresentation
  • Product Liability
  • Warranties
  • Privacy Rights
  • Fraud

What are my rights if I think I have been harmed as a Massachusetts consumer?

Massachusetts General Law Chapter 93A requires that a settlement demand be made to the party who engages in unfair or deceptive business practices. Upon making a settlement demand, the responding party has 30 days to make a reasonable settlement offer. If they do not submit a reasonable settlement offer, a court can award double or treble damages upon a successful lawsuit.
